Atlanta United announced on Friday that it will allow up to 50 percent of the normal 43,000 or so capacity for the 2021 MLS home opener against the Chicago Fire on April 24. The club also confirmed they will release capacity percentage information on a match-by-match basis going forward this season.
“We’re excited to be able to kick off our 2021 season at 50% capacity,” Atlanta United Chief Business Officer Catie Griggs said in a release provided by the club. “This allows for seating pods to remain distanced from one another, while providing more of our season ticket members the opportunity to safely attend our first match.”
All matchday safety measures introduced at the end of last season will remain in effect:
Health and safety guidelines will remain in place for Atlanta United matches, including required face coverings while not actively eating or drinking, social distancing in concourses and queues, enhanced sanitization, reduced pre-match activities and assigned seating in all areas including the Supporters Sections.
