Atlanta United is one step closer to clearing any potential international spot issues after the club confirmed midfielder Matheus Rossetto has obtained a U.S. green card and will no longer occupy one of Atlanta United’s international spots.

Atlanta loaned Rossetto out to the club’s USL team in order to secure the signing of Argentine center back Alan Franco. According to MLSSoccer, Atlanta United’s other International players are Jurgen Damm, Ronald Hernandez, Franco Ibarra, Erik Lopez, Marcelino Moreno, Jake Mulraney, Santiago Sosa and Anton Walkes.

Fernando Meza is also listed on Atlanta’s MLS roster, but he is loaned out to Defensa y Justicia in his native Argentina.

Rossetto was said to be in Brazil for personal reasons earlier in the year, but it appears the Brazilian midfielder will play a role in Gabriel Heinze’s plans for Atlanta United’s 2021 season. Heinze confirmed Rossetto’s return to Atlanta and involvement with the first team in a press conference on Thursday.

Rossetto joined Atlanta United on Feb. 3, 2020 and made 15 appearances, 10 of which were starts.
