Atlanta United vs. Chicago Fire: Match Thread and How to Watch

Home, at long last

MLS: Atlanta United FC at Chicago Fire Mike Dinovo-USA TODAY Sports

Following a scoreless result down in Orlando last weekend, Atlanta United returns to the Peach State and the Benz for today’s home opener against the Chicago Fire. The match will also be the beginning of the Five Stripes’ appearances on the newly rebranded Bally Sports network, formerly referred to as FOX Sports.

For those out there that watched matches on FOX Sports South/Southeast last year, good news: the only change is the name. The channel number is still the same for whatever TV provider you have as it was for FOX Sports. In addition, those with providers carrying Bally Sports have the ability to watch through the Bally Sports app. For those that relied on streaming services, not much has changed either, unfortunately. If you are watching outside the blackout area, you can access the ESPN+ stream, but for those in the Bally Sports South/Southeast broadcast region, there is but one current option for streaming: AT&T TV.

Hulu TV, YouTube TV, fuboTV and any other services are still yet to agree on fees with Bally Sports, meaning their channels will not show up on those services. So, for the 19 United matches shown on Bally Sports, users of these streaming services will have to find another way to watch.

For more information on broadcasts, the club has put out a handy chart for finding the channel listings for any broadcaster showing an Atlanta United match through a number of providers, which can be found here.

Hopefully this helps to clear up any confusion when trying to find a way to watch tonight’s match. For questions about the match itself, be sure to check out our match preview and predicted lineup, then hop into the match thread in the comments below to discuss all the action on both the pitch and your TV guide.

UPDATE: The match IS available on ESPN+ for those in the blackout area, but only through the Spanish broadcast, which can be chosen after selecting the ATLUTD match.
