Aberdeen FC, lead by former Atlanta United 2 and interim Atlanta United head coach Stephen Glass, are interest in adding right back Jack Gurr in a potential loan move. Gurr was promoted and to the first team roster this year after signing a semi-guaranteed MLS deal.

It would certainly be humorous, if nothing else, to see this come to fruition. It would mean that both teams would have right backs on their roster that are on loan from each other’s parent clubs. Venezuelan right back Ronald Hernandez is in Atlanta on loan from Aberdeen, and is yet to make a competitive appearance. Interestingly, Gurr has at least appeared once for Gabriel Heinze’s side this season, playing the second half of Atlanta’s 3-1 win over the Chicago Fire in April and helped contribute to the final goal in that match.
Gurr will certainly be looking for minutes, as he’s yet to appear for the club’s USL side this season due to first team commitments. Glass will know all about the player and what he may be able to provide the Dons, which is a smart right-sided player who uses the ball efficiently — making up for what he lacks in athleticism.
