After dominating the passage of play Sunday despite very few chances created against the MLS-leading Seattle Sounders, Atlanta United flew home with a point they will be proud of thanks to a late Josef Martinez penalty conversion. The win pushed Atlanta as high as third in the Eastern Conference standings at the time, and the team now sits in fifth through six league matches.
Five Stripe Final is back this week to discuss Sunday’s action and what they’re thinking about the team at this point in the season.
Some scheduling issues forced us a little shorter for this episode today, but there’s more FSF coming every week on our Patreon. Last week, we talked with The Athletic’s Sam Stejskal about the recent MLS salary guide and the way Atlanta United has constructed its roster.
