Atlanta United did itself no favors by digging a three-goal deficit in the home leg of its Champions League quarterfinal tie with the Philadelphia Union last week, and the Five Stripes officially saw their [fortunate] appearance in this year’s tournament come to an end Tuesday night. Ultimately, Atlanta United looked better than they did in the weekend’s loss to the New England Revolution, but it was not enough and it’s a disappointing exit in what was a winnable quarterfinal matchup.

Five Stripe Final is back to discuss the games and the state of the team at the moment as the Five Stripes look in search for goals and chance creation under Gabriel Heinze.
