Atlanta United lets another late two-goal lead slip away against the Philadelphia Union

“This time will be different,” we all thought as Anton Walkes headed home Atlanta United’s second goal against the Philadelphia Union at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Sunday to give the Five Stripes a two-goal lead.

And then, like 30 seconds later it seemed, the ball was in the back of Brad Guzan’s net. Minutes later Jakob Glesnes 30-yard rocket off the underside of the bar sealed the deal to make it official: Atlanta United let go of a two-goal cushion in the final ten minutes of a game for the second consecutive match. Honestly, what the hell.
