A third game within a six day span sees the Five Stripes on the road in Washington tonight as they take on D.C. United. Rob Valentino gets one more much under his belt before Gonzalo Pineda officially takes the helm next week. Can he end his interim reign on four straight wins?
Atlanta United has lost five of six total visits to the nation’s capital, which is certainly not a record to be proud of. However, the current wave of good form combined with the attacking quartet of Martinez, Moreno, Barco, and Araujo continuing to build chemistry might be enough to see off Julian Gressel, Yamil Asad, and the rest of D.C. United.
Tonight’s action can be found on the regional Bally Sports South, although you won’t hear the familiar voices of Kevin Egan and Maurice Edu while watching. Due to scheduling conflicts, Eric Krakauer of beIN Sports will step into the play-by-play role, while Jason Longshore will move from radio to television as an analyst.
