It’s Ezequiel Barco’s world and we’re just living in it. The last six weeks have been the Argentine’s true breakout period in Atlanta. Barco’s great run of form continued against rivals Orlando City this past Friday and has earned him nominations for two MLS weekly awards.
His goal and assist performance against the Lions has made him one of four candidates for the MLS Player of the Week award.
More importantly, it’s time for the Atlanta United Keyboard Coalition to reunite and take their place back on the MLS pantheon of internet trolls. Barco’s sensational solo goal — you know, that one where he dribbled past about six defenders and scored only to get slated in the comments section for not passing — has earned him a nomination for Goal of the Week.
✨ Spectacular finishes ✨

But who deserves to win #ATTGotW?
His competition includes Real Salt Lake’s Damir Kreilach, New England Revolution’s Tajon Buchanan, and NYCFC’s Santiago Rodriguez. To vote, simply click on Barco’s name on the tweet above. Atlanta United may be inching towards being “back” on the field, but they aren’t truly returned to glory until the fan base starts winning every internet poll once again.
