This is not a drill

MLS: D.C. United at Atlanta United FC John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Everybody put your seatbelts on and tray tables up because Atlanta United is well and truly taking flight after Saturday’s 3-2 win over D.C. United. And honestly.... it wasn’t as close as the score would suggest! D.C. United manager Hernan Losada even said after the game that the Five Stripes would be one of the main challengers for MLS Cup.

All in all, the win capped the perfect week for Atlanta as Gonzalo Pineda’s team picked up all 9 points, scoring 10 goals across the three games. Sam and Joe discuss all the action on this week’s episode of Five Stripe Final.

If you enjoy the show, there’s more where that came from. Join the podcast Patreon for bonus episodes featuring interviews with some of your favorite Atlanta United journalists, players, former players, and more. Just last week, Michael Parkhurst and Greg Garza joined the show and shared what Tata made them do in training that had them telling each other “There’s no way Messi did this [drill].” Once you pay, you will gain access to all past episodes, some of which are definitely worth going back to listen to.

But for everybody, thank you for listening and let’s just hope the good times keep rolling.
