Gregg Berhalter has named a 27-player roster for the ’s three October World Cup Qualifying matches. #USMNT x @BioSteelSports
The annoncement is anything but a surprise for Robinson, who vaulted his name perhaps to the top of Berhalter’s list of American center backs. His performances against El Salvador, Canada and Honduras in last month’s qualifiers easily stood above the rest of his defensive teammates, and we have every expectation that he will continue to feature in all three games.
For Bello, the announcement is maybe not a surprise as much as it is encouraging for the 19-year-old home grown left back. Bello’s appearances under Berhalter have been more sporadic than Robinson with performances that are more mixed, but he seems to have Berhalter’s trust.
For Atlanta United, it’s bittersweet as always. The players will depart the club after the team’s trip to Montreal this coming weekend. Atlanta then returns from the break with a home game against Toronto FC on October 16.
Best of luck to these two and congratulations on the call!
