ATL UTD 2 added to its attacking corps on Tuesday with the signing of Amadou Macky Diop.
A native of Senegal, the 6-foot-3 Diop signed to play collegiately for Radford in the Big South, where he led the Highlanders with 9 goals and 5 assists as a freshman and added 2 goals as a sophomore. He also scored 4 goals in 6 games with amateur side New York Red Bulls U23 in USL League 2 in 2019.
If he can produce goals like this, Atlanta fans are in for a treat.
The human highlight reel does it again! Amadou Macky Diop bends it around the traffic and into the net!

“We’re proud to welcome Amadou as our first signing this offseason,” head coach Stephen Glass said of the signing in a statement released by the club. “He is a player that we have been tracking and myself and the staff are excited to work with him as he takes the next step to the professional game.”
Before playing at Radford, Diop had experience in his native country of Senegal, playing for the Diambars Academy before being loaned to Dinamo Zagreb’s academy side in Croatia in 2015.
