As the MLS season nears its end and we draw closer to the January transfer window, no player will be more in demand than Miguel Almiron. The Paraguayan has already been linked to Arsenal, West Ham, and Tottenham Hotspur, and as we found out on Wednesday, Newcastle United looks to be the latest Premier League team to show interest in the midfielder.

The Evening Chronicle out of Newcastle is reporting that Newcastle’s head of recruitment, Steve Nickson, will be traveling across the pond to meet with representatives of Atlanta United and Almiron’s agent in the coming weeks.

It’s no surprise to see the gifted midfielder being wooed by the European clubs, and Almiron and his father have made it no secret that his ultimate goal is to play in those leagues. This latest rumor is further proof that Atlanta United fans need to prepare themselves for life after Miggy. If the Newcastle link is true, Almiron may be donning the black and white of the Magpies by January.
