Miguel Almiron is really good at soccer. We all know this. Atlanta United knew it when they signed them, we knew it as soon as we saw him play. Well, it turns out that some of the top clubs in Europe are starting to take notice as well.
According to CalcioMercato.com, Serie A giants Inter Milan are “closely monitoring” Almiron’s progress in MLS. They also reiterate that perennial Premier League fourth-placers Arsenal have maintained their interest in the 22-year-old attacking midfielder.
There were many reports linking Almiron to Arsenal before his move to Atlanta in December, but nothing ever materialized. His nine goals and 13 assists this season seem to have sparked interest from not only the Gunners but other clubs as well.
The report states that Miggy is valued at around €15-20 million. It remains to be seen what exactly Atlanta United value him at and what it would take for them to agree to a transfer.
We all knew the possibility of losing young and talented players existed when they signed here. It’s part of the philosophy Darren Eales has put in place when building this team. It seems just like a matter of time before Almiron leaves for Europe. The questions that need to be answered are: “How much will Atlanta get for him?” and “When is the right time to let him go?”
I don’t have the answers to either, but it would make a ton of sense for Atlanta to try and hang on to him for one more season to allow him to develop a little more before going to a top team.
What say you? What do you think Miggy is worth on the transfer market?
