Atlanta United striker Josef Martinez was voted Alcacel MLS player of the month for the second time this year, he also won the award on March. Martinez becomes the only player to receive this recognition twice this season.

In September Martinez scored 9 goals, two hat tricks helping Atlanta United to a 5-0-2 record in September while clinching a spot for the playoffs in their first season.
Despite only playing in 18 regular season (15 starts) games, the Venezuelan forward now has 18 goals and one assist this season. He’s currently fourth in the MLS Golden Boot race.
Atlanta and Martinez return to action on Sunday, Oct. 15 against New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena (5 p.m. ET, FS1)
