On Monday, Atlanta United announced yet another signing to their already impressive inaugural roster with the addition of former Atalanta midfielder Carlos Carmona.
The 29-year-old midfielder joins the club two weeks into their preseason training camp after mutually agreeing to part ways with the Serie A stalwarts. Here he is in his first training session alongside Greg Garza who also joined the club after his time with the U.S. national team:

As per usual when your club signs someone you haven’t really heard of off the top of your head, the first thing to do is to head to the magical world of YouTube and find all the highlight videos you can. So, that’s what we did with Carmona and the above one is the best we could find to showcase his ability.
Judging from the highlights, he seems like a player who can attack and defend. Another box-to-box player who can play a variety of roles. You can see him getting into the box and finishing off chances, but he’s also known for putting in a tackle when needed. It’ll be interesting to see how the midfield dynamic works with him and McCann in the center of the field together.
