Ahead of Sunday’s Atlanta United vs. New York Red Bulls’ match at Bobby Dodd Stadium, I had a chance to sit down with FOX Sports’ John Strong to talk about the 2017 MLS season, what Atlanta can learn from previous expansion teams, and the general state of American soccer broadcasting.
His insight into MLS and the league’s future growth was fascinating as someone who travels around the country calling games. He is bullish on Atlanta and United’s future success.
John is one of the leading voices in American soccer on FOX’s coverage of MLS and the U.S. national team. He began his career in Portland calling Timbers’ games for FOX Sports Northwest before moving to NBC Sports. He joined FOX exclusively in January 2015.
Thanks to John and FOX’s Claudia Martinez for finding the time in a busy schedule to talk to us.
