Andrew Carleton and Chris Goslin are set to miss up the next month of Atlanta United’s schedule while away with the United States under-17 men’s national team as they prepare for the CONCACAF Championship. Atlanta United academy player Zyen Jones has also been named to the roster.
The tournament is set to begin on April 21 in Panama and last through May 7. However, Carleton and Goslin have already left United to head to a Florida training camp with the team to get prepared.
The CONCACAF championship acts as World Cup qualifying for the region. Four tickets to the World Cup are set to be punched in this tournament and the U.S. will be hoping theirs is one. Both players have been an integral part of this team throughout the cycle. Carleton’s dynamic play on the left wing has been a catalyst through several tournament triumphs, while Goslin’s midfield play has been very important too.
While away, they are set to miss as many as four league matches if the Americans progress through to the final of the competition. Good luck to Andrew, Chris, and the U-17’s in their bid for the World Cup.
