Chris Goslin joins MLS Homegrown Game roster

He joins Andrew Carleton on the team to play Chivas.

The MLS Homegrown Game just got a little more interesting for Atlanta United fans. While Andrew Carleton has already given them something to look forward to, news today dropped that Frosted Orange’s U-17 pal and fellow Five Stripes Homegrown player, Chris Goslin, has been added to the roster as well.

The Homegrown Game will be played on Tuesday (Aug. 1) at 8:00 p.m. ET against Chivas de Guadalajara’s U-20 team. The match will air on Univision Deportes and Facebook Live.

This is the fourth edition of the MLS Homegrown Game and it is used as an appetizer before the MLS All-Star Game. Atlanta United have three representatives (Miguel Almiron, Greg Garza, and Michael Parkhurst) in that game against Real Madrid on Wednesday, so that gives the club five total participants in the All-Star festivities.

Despite signing a Homegrown contract with Atlanta in October, Goslin has yet to appear in a competitive match for the club. He has played for the Charleston Battery and the U.S. under-17 national team and is expected to be an important part of the U.S. team headed to the U-17 World Cup in November.
