Ezequiel Barco’s first MLS goal nominated for Goal of the Week

The 19-year-old's tally is up for the weekly award.

MLS: Atlanta United FC at Chicago Fire Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

There are three certainties in life: Death, taxes and an Atlanta United player being nominated for MLS goal of the week. This time, it’s the $15 million man, Ezequiel Barco, getting the nod for his tally on Saturday against the Chicago Fire - his first in MLS and hopefully first of many.

This is the second week in a row that an Atlanta player has been nominated for goal of the week honors. Last week, it was Kevin Kratz and his screamer of a free kick (this one, not the other one) that made the list, with Kratz winning in a landslide with 80% of the vote.

Barco’s tally is the team’s fourth GotW victory in just 10 weeks...wait, what? Oh, they actually have to vote for Barco to win it before it’s actually awarded? And they have to click here to do it? Oh, OK. Makes sense.
