Predicting Atlanta United’s starting XI at Real Salt Lake

No Tito means a change up front.

MLS: Atlanta United FC at Sporting Kansas City Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

I came really, really close to going 11 for 11 in Sunday’s lineup prediction post, but thanks to Jeff Larentowicz getting the start over Eric Remedi, I had to settle for a mere 10 of 11.

This will be the lineup tonight against Real Salt Lake. Trust me. It’s the one.

A couple of changes from Sunday as Eric Remedi should be back after getting the day off against the Red Bulls on Sunday. Also, it’s possible Brek Shea (hold on - don’t hit send on your negative comments just yet) gets the call at LWB instead of Michael Parkhurst. Should Atlanta hold a lead late in the match, Parkhurst (and Jeff Larentowicz, for that matter) should be the substitutes to help see the result out.

The big one is on the left of the attack, where I think Justin Meram slides right in for the injured Tito Villalba. Fortunately, it doesn’t sound serious for Villalba and he figures to be back on Wednesday against Minnesota United.

Thoughts on the lineup? Let me know in the comments.
