In the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks and another credible threat in Hannover, Germany, the Wednesday friendly between the German and Dutch men's national teams was abandoned. German interior minister Thomas de Maizere made the call: "It was an extremely tough decision to cancel the match, " he said, "which was made after many pieces of info indicated concrete threat." Despite the threat, no explosives were found and no arrests were made.

A friendly between Belgium and Spain was also canceled amid Belgian police's manhunt for individuals suspected to be involved with the attacks.
